A fabulous example of a turquoise and seed pearl oval locket with a crystal-topped reverse compartment.

This style of mounded cabochon turquoise was very popular in the 1860s in England. It is set in silver over gold with a border on the mount of the glass and the reverse of the bail. The turquoise is in good condition with a couple of spots where there are tiny chips (bottom of the locket and right top of the locket, not easily discernible). A true piece of Victorian jewelry that is as modern today as it was in the 1800's. The reverse compartment has a crystal back and is easily opened and ready for a keepsake.
