Finding exceptional Essex Crystal pieces is something that still thrills me after many years of collecting and buying. This particular Essex Crystal started its life as a stick pin and while it was beautiful in this form it truly needed to be taken into the 21st century. The details on this necklace are simply amazing. Set in 18KT yellow gold with a guilloché enamel border in a deep blue with 4 Old Euro diamonds at the top and bottom and on either side. Central to this beautiful necklace is a reverse painted crystal which almost appears to have the qualities of an opal with the color play dancing all around the dog perhaps a Springer Spaniel with an orange collar. Clearly this dog was very loved and had an owner who believed his beauty should live on in perpetuity. What a sensational piece! I have added a modern 14KT Yellow Gold cable chain that is 18.5 inches in total. I have also added another jump ring at the back to allow it to be worn at 17 inches. Custom in every detail. Not marked but tests 18 KT on the pendant. 3.9 grams. pendant is 15mm in diameter. The scale of this pendant is small but extremely clear.
